What’s Edge of Tomorrow starring Tom Cruise about?
Warning: Spoilers, kind of.
Earth has been invaded by an alien species called mimics. Humanity is having a difficult time defeating them because they seem to mimic our behavior. Tom cruise is a major in the army who is more of a face man for the army’s recruitment project than a fighter. He’s ordered to serve at the front line and when he refuses, he’s placed under arrest and wakes up in handcuffs on top of some duffel bags.
The story his commander’s been told is that he’s a private and he was caught deserting the army. They throw him in a exoskeleton and go to war. When he’s killed, he wakes up again and again at the same point, waking up in cuffs on those duffel bags.
Until one of the times, he’s gotten better at fighting because he knows where the mimics will be, and one of the top soldiers takes notice. She tells him to find her when he wakes up and the movie continues on from there.
I liked the time replay aspect of the movie as well as the scifi, alien, war premise. After watching it once, I’m definitely going to pick it up when it comes out on DVD.
